The Miss Rodeo Topeka Pageant
The Topeka PRCA Rodeo is seeking a young woman who has a passion for Rodeo, the Western lifestyle and all things horses. The young woman who is selected Miss Rodeo Topeka 2014 will travel to a variety of events during her reign to promote the Topeka PRCA Rodeo and the North Topeka Saddle Club.
The pageant is patterned after the Miss Rodeo Kansas pageant. Contestants are judged in three main categories - Appearance, Horsemanship and Personality. Contestants will execute two horsemanship patterns, demonstrate a flag run, complete a queen's run and have a short interview following a pattern; interview with a panel of judges; present a prepared speech on rodeo, the Western lifestyle or their hometown; answer impromptu questions and model a western jeans outfit. Only two jean outfits are needed for the Miss Rodeo Topeka 2014 competition, no dresses!
Prizes are awarded to Miss Rodeo Topeka, runners-up, the high scoring individual in the horsemanship category and to the contestant scoring highest with her prepared speech. A Miss Congeniality award may be given at the discretion of the committee.

Entry Requirements
In order to compete for and represent the title of Miss Rodeo Topeka 2014, potential candidates must:
- Be a legal resident of the State of Kansas.
- Be 16 years of age on or before August 1, 2014 and not older than 24 on or before August 1, 2014 as proved by a copy of the contestant’s birth certificate.
- Never have been nor currently pregnant, married or convicted of a serious crime of moral turpitude, have been incarcerated or charged with a felony crime.
- Never have had any princess and/or queen title removed for any reason unless petition is made to the Miss Rodeo Topeka pageant committee and the North Topeka Saddle Club for review.
- Honestly and prudently complete and submit all forms, including liability waiver.
- Submit a non-refundable $50.00 entry fee.
- Submit all required paperwork postmarked on or before AUGUST 9, 2014 including entry fee.
- Submit electronically a color head and shoulder promotional photo in which she is wearing a traditional styled Western cowboy hat (no crowns or banners) and Western styled clothing on or before August 9, 2014 to Bobbie Hinds.
- Agree to abide by all expectations of the Miss Rodeo Topeka committee as outlined further in the rulebook as a contestant and as Miss Rodeo Topeka 2014 if she is awarded the title.
- Agree to be responsible for all expenses incurred as Miss Rodeo Topeka.
- Agree that by submitting the entry form, waiver, and entry fee the contestant will abide by all rules of the Miss Rodeo Topeka Pageant and those of the North Topeka Saddle Club. If a contestant does not comply with these rules she risks disqualification and/or forfeiture of gifts and prizes won.
- Agree that by submitting entry to the Miss Rodeo Topeka Pageant the contestant gives the Miss Rodeo Topeka Pageant committee and the North Topeka Saddle Club the right to use photos provided and any taken during events for promotional means before, during and after the contest.
